Equipment ???

I saw a guy playing electric guitar and he was using a black box instead of a pick. I didn't get the chance to talk to him about it but I noticed a blue light on the underside of the box. He would put the lighted side toward the strings and the notes would crescendo in. Anyone have an idea on what it's called?

Might have been an E-bow which I think was first out in the 70s. If the sound of the string swelled like a violin rather than attacked like it was plucked, that's probably what it was.

THAT'S IT! I found info on wikipedia and that's exactly what it was. I was trying to describe it to a friend but he didn't know what I was talking about! Thank you so much!

That's not quite the blue light I remember, however.....

You already got the question answered as to what it is. Here's a fun project that a guy and I created that has several ebow tracks in the cut. Look for the track that says Acid on this page.

It's an Ebow. A small handheld device taht gives you unlimited sustain. Im trying to get one right now, except all the local stores including the one I used to work at is out of stock.

Yesterday was history, tommrow is a mystery, today is a gift. I'm moving on and starting over. There are things that have been done and past. You cannot change what's done but you can change what has not been. I will fall down and I'll pick myself back up again.
