I haven't played through a huge number of amps, but my favorite so far has been the Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue. Very sweet-sounding amp.

Like asking what my favorite fruit is... Each has a different appeal.

I really enjoyed a Soldano head a good friend had... as well as an old Mark lll Mesa Boogie head I had once... AFTER retubing it...

I think my Ampeg VL50 was overall the best amp I've owned... Great clear sound and overdive until the cows came home... just kept getting hotter and dirtier as the tubes warmed up. It was sooo loud, and soooo heavy I decided after rupturing a disc I'd go for lighter gear.

Now my V-Amp 2 and little junk amp clean channel get every cool sound I've ever needed... and I can tote my entire setup in at once... guitar, gig bag, amp and satchel of lyrics... its soooo sweet and light!

Remember, wherever you go... there you are.

My favorite amp is my Epi Valve Jr Head with a 1x12 cab. It may not be the greatest but it's great for playing in the house. Not too loud and seems to warm up the sounds from my FX pedals.

In the old days, I liked both my Fenders (Princeton for practice, Twin Reverb for loud). Of post-'60s stuff, I'm quite partial to the Vox AC30 series -- I find that it occupies a happy middle ground between the Fender clean and the Marshall dirty.

I tend to compulsively replace stock tubes, speakers and occasional other parts in getting them exactly how I want, but that's another topic.

I have a Tweed Deluxe I love to death...at low volume it gives a sweet clean tone. When cranked it sounds like a small Marshall. Its small and portable...plenty loud enough for small jams. I have tweaked it with old RCA tubes and a tone tubby speaker.

other then some of the monsters i've plugged guitars in at the store. I have access to a friends Crate 1200GT with 4/12 marshall cab. My Dean electric and that setup get along well. He also has a fender acoustic and a Laney acoustic (not sure which models), but I prefer my PA for any acoustic guitar. just better range of sound in my opinion. Other then those My peavey doesn't do to bad for itself either, but i'd like to try a vox. I'm going to woodwind and brass tomorrow and am alot more knowledgable then the last time I was there. I'm going to try a bunch of stuff.

Dean Icon PZ - Dean V-Wing Dove- Dean 79 ML SilverBurst - Line 6 Variax 700
