Hello Sales Tax!

I understand that Guitar Center has just bought Musician's Friend and is in the process of buying Music 123. Lots of mail order customers are going to have to start paying sales tax if there is a Guitar Center in their state.

Guitar Center have owned MusiciansFriend for quite some time... actually from 1999 according to this article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musician's_Friend

What I didn't know was that Harmony Central was owned by MusiciansFriend. Interesting.

Where did you here about Guitar Center buying out music123 Phil?

There are of course many other online musical instrument merchant... zZounds, SameDayMusic and others.

Music123 has gone bankrupt. GC bought all their stock and is blowing a lot of it out the door. A friend just bought a Fullerton strat copy for 29 bucks.

... and they went bankrupt in December last year. I was an affiliate of theirs and didn't even get notified. Lucky they only owed me about 15 bucks.

I had a MF shipment, which I ordered on April 30th, arrive on Friday, with no sales tax. There are 28 Guitar Centers in California. Apparently the change of ownership doesn't change their tax status... ?

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
