How many have...

...ran your multifx unit into your stereo? I just plugged my Boss GT-8 into my mixer, which runs into the computer. My computer "speakers" are my stereo system. So I'm listening to my guitar thru the stereo and it sounds great. Makes me wonder why people need a good "bedroom amp" if they have a stereo. I write this as I stare at the 6 amps I own! LOL, not literally they're actually scattered about.

But it did get me to thinking that for someone that only plays in their bedroom or den, you can go a long way or your electric with an FX setup and a stereo before actually "needing" an amp.

A lot of the work I do learning covers is playing into my V-Amp run into the Line in on my computer. Nice Labtec speakers with a subwoofer and I can mix my guitar in with the .mp3 and play at pleasant volumes with an excellent mix and full control at my fingertips.

Our bass Player uses the house stereo and we have everything we need in our V-Amp carry bags to also patch into his Car Stereo.

That's what I do. I either use my computer and studio monitors or I go through the stereo when no one's home and I really want to crank it. I use effects plugins on my computer and I have my computer connected to the stereo. I don't own a guitar amp other than a little cheap-o practice amp. So the stereo or computer are my only options.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
