Capo question

There is a song I would like to learn to play that requires a capo. I was looking online and saw there are many different brands, keyser.dunlop, shubb, etc etc. Before I run out and buy one I thought I would run it buy this forum and see if any of you have suggestions or opinions on what to purchase. Any input would be appreciated. Tnx Pat

I have own the Shubb Original C series and the Keyser Quick-Change ...I like the Shubb alot. The Keyser seemed to clamp on so darn tight that I could barely open and close it. My .02 tho...everyone likes something different.
I want to try one of those G7th ones..they look cool, but a bit pricey!

Oh and I play acoustic if it makes a difference.

Don't get a strap capo. The post hole rims can scratch your neck.

I have a Keyser, and it works very well.

I've used everything from a hair elastic and a pencil to beautiful handmade ones. But I'm going to stick with the pencil and elastic approch for abit.

LoL maybe I have the weak girly hands when it comes to the Keyser! Everyone seems to like them but me!

I use a fairly cheap capo called the pickers pal, it's kind to the guitar and and is quick release nothing special but works for me, I truly hate the elastic ones. The pencil and elastic sounds pretty cool though.

Cheers

Chris

Really can't decide? Just go for the "bungee and pencil" approach. A 2HB should do.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm kind of leaning towards the shubb capo. I like the idea of applying only the amount of pressure needed. Anyway, your advice is much appreciated.

I recently bought a Keyser capo over the weekend too. I only plan on using it for songs here and there and that's what the (guitar center) guy recommended me. Around 16 bucks total so it wasn't that bad price wise; It is a bit hard for me to put it on though, I guess I have weak girly hands too. (then again I am a girl soo..)

After trying several cheapies, we settled on a Shubb apiece for my wife and I. Had them a few years now... they're tough and adjust quickly to any guitar neck ( we have guitars with lotsa different neck profiles)

I picked up a Shubb the other day to aid in setting the proper action on my LP. I really like it since you can adjust the pressure to get 'just enough' and don't have to worry about choking the neck.
