Missing a nut

I'm missing the outer nut from my jack on one of my guitars. Are these all a standard size, and if so anyone know what it is?

Yeh, Radio Shack is a good starting point.

What I've gotten into the habit of doing for decades now, is whenever I plug a cable into a jack, whether it be a guitar jack, a speaker jack, ..whatever, I always test the nut by just putting my thumb and index finger on the nut and giving it a light twist. If it moves, time to tighten it. If it doesn't, it's secure for a while longer.

Just me, I guess, but I've found loose nuts on monitor cabinets that haven't moved in months and seems like the nut on my Ovation will loosen up at least once a year.

FWIW

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
