Candelas classical.

Just picked up an old battered guitar from the Salvation Army, polished it up and put some strings on it. I,m not much of a guitarist but its got a beautiful sound. It says inside handmade by Delgado Bros. Anyone know anything about those guitars, and did I get a bargain at $275.

Woo Hoo!!!, looks like I got me a guitar.Delgado Bros 1066 Sunset Blvd. marked inside on label, apparently moved from there in 1980 so the guitar must be at least 27 years old, and I love it. Need to take some clasical lessons now!!

Sure got a bargain, but its just nice to know I,ve got a good guitar with a lovely soft sound so the wife can't complain too much when I practice. It cleaned up nicely and I think I got it so cheap cos it had no strings on it. I will take a picture and try to post it later. thanks for your help.

e-mailed Manuel Delgado with pics of guitar and got this reply,

'Danny, you got a rare find. This is a model my grandfatherof a dreadnaught body, clasical. Since it doesn't have his name on the inside, it was probably built by him and his staff. The instruments that he made from start to finish slways had his name inside. I didn't see the back and sides, but I assume it's rosewood?
By the way,the body style is much like one of five guitars we made for Jose Feliciano.
Hope this helps,Manuel.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
