Fender Stratocaster XII 12-String Electric Guitar

Stratocaster XII 12 String Electric

I got such a good deal (Looks Brand New in Blue $389 at a local shop) on one I bought it! I didnt even go there looking to buy a guitar that day but to just look around the shop to check it out. Anyway, I now own this guitar. What types of music does this guitar suit itself too?

If you can, list some good beginner songs to try to learn.

Thanks,

Joe

Congrats on the new axe, Some of our 12 string players will be able to point you in the right direction.
Take a look at some vids of what people are playing on a 12 string.

Hi SkyHarborCowboy and welcome to the forum. Several 12 stringers on the site, I am sure that they will be of assistance.

Congrats on the new guitar, Joe!

Many strummed songs will sound great on a 12-string - very full. I play an acoustic 12-string once in a while, and the best song I've found for it is "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot - it sounds so much sweeter on the 12 than it does on a 6-string!

That is such a cool song. I will have to learn how to play that one. I just saw a show on the history channel about that tragedy.

12 string guitars have such a full, melodic sound with them.
Congrats on the buy. Now you'll have to upload some pics for us.

"Wish you were here" by Pink floyd sounds sweet on a 12 string, and it's easy to play. And most of the Byrds songs sound good.

Nice guitar. I reckon 'Hey Joe' usually goes over really well on a twelve string . (Certainly worked for Jimi anyway)
