Guitar Rig 2

Just when you think about not spending anymore money on guitar bits, something catches your eye.

Very sweet system, I've got version 1.o with-out the rig kontrol foot switch, just can't get the latency problem to drop below approx.1 sec. Probably just need a better sound card, and some guitar skills to benefit from it. 270Mbs, which nowadays aint that much I guess.

Love it. I don't like those crappy shoes though.

Does it have to be connected at all times via a PC to be able to use it though?

That's what it looks like from the demo - everything is done through software. Perhaps 4String could confirm since he owns an earlier version of it.

I Use amplitube 2 and it's just as good at less then half the price.
The only problem is you have to buy the pedal separate

Yes, it is a simulater and is not a stand alone unit, although I don't know about the foot switch, I'm assuming its just like any other on/off A/B switch with a wah/vol pedal?? It is a very well put together program, tons of sounds/effects etc, I just cant stand the latency problem I have right now with it, like I wrote above I need a better card or maybe just some MORE fiddling with it.

4String - are you using the ASIO drivers? There have been several threads about them in the recording forum, and they seem to have solved a lot of peoples' problems with latency.

Tekker would be a good source to check with, too - he's very "up" on all the computer recording stuff.

GP has so many choices its unbelieveable, heres a little clip I just slapped on, sorry about the shakiness, holding camcorder, using mouse at the same time is as hard to watch as it would be hearing me sing. Just about any rack item you could want, built in recorder, multible presets etc. Add and subtract from any of the presets or build from scratch. Mine was a gift from a "crack" head

Yeah, I've got asio4all right now, I think most of my problems are self inflicted, I've got way to many apps and very little knowledge, probably have to remove them and reload one at a time until I figure it all out. Thanks for the heads up though.

That's a pretty dizzying array of stuff available on that program, 4String!
