Ashston guitars
I was in my local guitar store today just looking around at potential future purchases, or should I say dreaming of potential purchases.
While there I thought I'd look at some likely accoustic upgrades. Had a look at a few possibles, including one by Aria (the same people that made my electric guitar), but then I got hold of a couple made by Ashton guitars (I believe Ashton is an Australian company) and was very impressed. Even the Ashton model at £89 was a superb guitar, great feel to it, lovely tone. And guess what! it even had a little built in tuner on the upper part of the body, just swicth on glance down and tune up. All come with gig bag included in the price.
So, I think it is very likely that a new accoustic will hanging on my wall in the very near future, and I'm pretty certain it's gonna be an Ashton.

How much of an upgrade will it be from what you have now?

In terms of money, £90 is pretty much double the cost of my very budget accoustic.
As for how the Ashton feels, plays, sounds and the build quality there simply is no comparison. Even the lower priced of the Ashtons I viewed today is leagues above my current accoustic.

The one after this will probably be in the 300 pound range. A small jump at the beginning of your playing can get you a jump in quality but, after that, it takes bigger jumps to move up in quality.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
