Cleaning the back of a guitar neck?

Hello all,

I've been using a Yamaha with a non lacquerd neck and it was very smooth, today I bought a used Epiphone Sheraton II and the back of the neck is not as smooth as the Yamaha.

The Sheraton has a lacquered neck, is it OK to polish it?

Use the same polish you would for a polyurethane finished neck and your good.
