TKL vs SKB

Hi, can someone please tell me which brand is actually better? I purchased a TKL 782 along with a guitar (Ibanez EW20ASE) today. The case looks good and solid. However, upon close inspection, I can see that the "skin" has a potential to come off. My daughter currently has a custom SKB-300 for her Little Martin, and i love that case. So I was thinking to get the SKB-20 (jumbo size) for my guitar and return the TKL 7820. Is it worth the hassle? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's worth it. If you don't want no axe being damaged, your best bet is to just return the other one.

yeah, i asked them and they said i need to pay $35 extra for the SKB... don't know if it's worth it for a $300 guitar... by the way, seems like some of the high end guitars (like Martin) came with the TKL cases, is that true?

Yes, the guitar. It's heavy metal slang.

ReefXpert and Jessica,

Right, it 's the guitar. But it's a term that came about WAY before Heavy metal. A lot of jazz players and Big Band players from a long time ago have used the term axe for their own particular instrument. Horn players, upright Bass, all of 'em used the term.

Been around a Lo-o-o-ng time.

As for the case, well if a $300 guitar is a lot to you, then get the better case. If it's just the "skin" that looks suspicious, maybe just exchange that particular one for another of the same make.

Me ? I try to get the strongest thing out there, other than Flight grade cases. But that's just my opinion. I know a guy that plays $2000 guitars and as long as he is just going from his house to a local gig with no other stuff, it's in a really nice, heavily padded gig bag. If he has to take some other stuff with him in the car, it goes in a hard shell case.

Just another opinion, so that's worth, what? maybe 20 cents U.S.?

Good luck and have fun!
