Well, it's not a Fender but it looks nice. After you get it try it out and tell me how it works.

I'm just wondering what the catch is. I mean there's cheap, but this is ridiculously cheap.

But good luck with your buy, fly -- I just hope you don't find it more useful as a fly-swatter than as a musical instrument.

good deal... worst comes to worst you can set the action high and use it for slide.

Michael

ps Hey, This might be an all Florida thread. GOCANES22 is from North Carolina but he's a Hurricane fan. So we can let him into the club.

I imagine the hardware and pups are going to be pretty lackluster.

Hurricane fan?!? Why that no good...

What, the Gators -- the 2006 National Champion Gators -- not good enough for him?

I'd count on it. That's OK though - if nothing else it'd be a cheap platform for a project guitar!

I figured that I have nothing to lose. I can probably flip it on Craigslist w/o losing more than $5 or $10 after satisfying my curiosity. Which BTW, I just picked up a Laney LC15 on CL in decent shape for $100. 15 Watt tube 1x10 combo. I like it better than my Fender Pro Jr.

Nice guitar! The Fullertons are sorta new on the market so maybe they're blowing them out as a promo.

Like all those Squier '51s that went flying out recently.

But don't smash it! Get another one, a bandsaw and make yourself a nice double-neck!

Actually I said that to a Carvin store clerk (in Los Angeles) about the AE-185 after asking about their lack of double-necks.

He started to look a little pale

Just took a look at the reviews on Harmony-Central and the reviews of the Fullerton Standard Strat were actually pretty good. Fly135 you might have a diamond in the rough.

Makin a double neck is one fine suggestion

Got the strat in and it's looks pretty good. The finish is very nice. I adjusted the truss rod, tweaked the intonation, lowered the string bridges a bit, and tuned it up. The sunburst finish is basically flawless, and all the parts and pieces look well assembled.

The only issue I have with it is the frets. They seem pretty level and once I adjusted the rod I got rid of a little buzz when fingering the 2nd fret B string. That was partly my fault because the rod was loose when I got it and the neck was slightly concave. I tightened it up before tuning the strings and it was slightly convex, causing the buzz. Loosen the rod a bit and now it's pretty good.

The issue is that the frets are half round, and I'm not used to that. The frets on my other guitars are fairly flat or semi round. I'm not really keen on the idea of filing each fret to lower then as that would be a leveling nightmare. So I'm curious as to whether any of you guys have experience with taller round frets and what do you think about them.
