Hofner shorty travel guitar

I'm trying to learn to play acoustic but one of the problems I've had was not being able to practice when the kids have gone to bed. So I've took the plunge and bought a little electric travel guitar. It will store anywhere and I can take it away with me when we go away in our caravan. You have to wear a strap even if sitting down as it doesnt balance but apart from that I'm impressed. I'm hoping it will add an extra 5 to 6hours practice a week. Aybody else got one and what do you think?

Edited to say I cant believe I've let slip I've got a caravan, not very rock n roll is it

G'day Jase,
Yes, we have a caravan too, and a guitar can take up a lot of space if you want to keep it protected. With just the wife and me, it's not so much of an issue as if the kids were with us. My solution was to get a cheap electric, (very secondhand!) a strat copy, and just not plug it in to anything. Very quiet, and a lot more durable than the acoustic. I've never had my hands on a travel guitar, so you're ahead of me there. I suppose you could practise in the car too?

Rgds

My "travel guitar" is a Squier Mini-Strat, along with a tiny little battery-powered Fender amp. Easy to stuff in the car and take along, and good enough to practice on.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
