Well I tried to completely lose it, and I think I succeeded

Whenever I try and play lead, I think I perhaps over think about it, I do work a lot with scales and that is how I think of the fretboard, but after listening to UV and his comments that he just plays, I thought perhaps I would have a crack at it.

It is messy as hell, one take putting down a backing track I couldn't follow easily, and then one take straight after putting down the lead track.

It is rubbish, but I thought you might enjoy it in its rubbishness, you can look back on it when I am really famous as a lead player and say you knew me in the days when I was crap....

and yeah I used that particular effect to hide my mistakes

Phew! That was a wild ride! I'm guessing you were making all the rock-star moves when recording this one! - it made me smile. Well done

I was trying to play so fast that I didn't have time to think about what i was doing.

It is very messy, but I am hoping if I practice this for awhile I might get better at it.

Cool, your first step, in the "just go for it" world. The more you do this the better you will get at it. Trying to conform will just hold you back. I've found that the first take is usually the most genuine. After that it is refinement, and remembering what you did the first time. Not a bad thing though. This guitar stuff is a learning process.

it was good, the volume on the lead could have been turned up some, keep rock'n there

Hi Fong, thanks for letting me have a play with this tune, here it is looped and with the drum track added, I faded it in and out, no worries if you don't like it

Thanks Fong when I first played it on WMP I had it on continuous play, and I thought it might sound cool looped then it just sort of evolved, I liked the tune reminded me of those psychedelic bands in the Sixties like Syd Barrets Pink Floyd who just used to get up on stage and experiment.
I applaud your mad skillz too Fong cool

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
