12 bars of slide in open G
I've been fooling around with open G tuning today. It's finally starting to click, and I think I'm going to like it a lot once I get a little more familiar with it.
This is just some noodling I did after practicing the open G thing for an hour or so. You'll be able to tell that I'm not using the whole fretboard, but I will be soon.
Thanks for the nudge over in the slide thread, Kirk.

Thanks allthumbs.
I'm still working on it and finding how to use adjacent strings instead of just picking single strings. This is pretty cool! Wish I'd started before now, lol.

Nice vibrato and intonation ... Nicely thought out lines too. Look out Bonnie Raitt!

Thats sounds very cool, I am seriously thinking of making my next project to play some slide. You might have just made my mind up.

Thanks Kirk and krissovo.
It's 3:45am here in WA state...I got up early, partly to study for final exams, but I also couldn't wait to pick up my guitar and slide. I was afraid I might have forgotten everything I learned yesterday, lol.
I like this so much that I am seriously considering splitting my practice time 50/50 with slide and picking.

Thanks for the comments, you guys, and for taking the time to listen to it. I appreciate it a lot.
I'm working on two more (collabs) and after I've completed them I'm going to give open D a try.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
