Help !! Please ....
I am way lost here ...
Click tracks ........
How do you play along to them and please don't say exactly the same as metronome please because that really isn't the answer I am looking for ..
I have made a click track of
Tempo 80 beats per minute
Beats per measure of 4
Number of measures 32
I am really hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this for me I am trying to play rhythm and lead
I am not 100% sure I have posted this in the right place , I posted it here just in case some one wanted to add a little guitar to it to enlighten me a little ...
Thanks in advance
Trev..

You have 2 strong beats 1&3, two softer beats,2&4. Tap your foot on the 1 and 3 beats if your playing in 4/4 time. Just focus on the 1 and 3 beats and the rest will fall into place. 80 BPM might be too fast to start with. Try 60. The trick is to internalize the beat so that the click track is just a reminder. Concentrating on it externally divides your attention too much as you have probably found out.

Thanks A T
As always you come to my rescue with words of wisdom and talk in a dialog which is very understandable for a beginner such as I .
I thank you Sir and I will go and make a Click track of 60 B P M , and concentrate on beats 1 & 3 ...
Thank you

Almost. The strong beats are the down strokes. The soft beats are the upstrokes. So one-down stroke two upstroke, three down stroke, four upstroke. You can hear that the up strokes don't have the same volume as the down strokes.
You can double up and do an up and down stroke on the stomp part of the foot beat and two more on the foot lift. So you are fitting two strums into the same amount of time as the single down stroke.
Once you get that steady foot beat, you can play with strumming rhythms by adding more down strums or more upstrokes. Skip an up or down stoke by doing a strum without touching the strings so that your arm maintains the strumming timing.. Play with it. Once you are locked into those two strong notes with your foot, you have a natural marker to help you keep the beat of what ever rhythm you want to use.

Hilch, don't know if this will help, i think i did close to what AT
was saying except not always going heavy on 1 and 3. I just was
moving my thumb to the beat (strum as you please). Try to feel
the click as if it were a tune on to itself, and move your strum to it.
Try to listen and move instead of trying to hit or not hit to any given click
BTW, this is Am and C but you can use one chord
