A piece I'm working on

Been experimenting lately with different sounds lately. Something that was brought on by the "Have you found your sound yet?" thread. So I've been trying various sounds ended up with this. It would be cool if I could tighten it up and add some lyrics. Sure something I've written will fit this. A beer to anyone who posts feedback.

I can't imagine how you would add lyrics to that. You could work with the heavy distortion bits though as a rhythm part. Must stop listening and get an aspirin. Sorry.

Peptic, there were several places that had a real shrill static type of noise. Since I'm not a metal fan I'm not sure, but it sounded like some type of interference that covered the sound of your music. Be interesting to hear some lyrics put to this.

I hope you're protecting your ears! That's the nurse in me speaking!

Peptic

You got too much going on here , I heard 3 different tones which all could be used as a rhythm track . And I do believe there is way too much distortion ...

Distortion can be a good thing with what you are trying to achieve here but sometimes less is better . There major issues with some kind of feed back on this .

I listen to everyones music through a surround sound system and honestly there is way too much distortion . Play it with no distortion then slowly add little by little ...

I am not a prude who only listens to one style of music but there is a difference between music and noise and I am sorry to say all I heard was noise with promise of being music if I could have only heard it through all the distortion ..

Sorry to sound harsh but I believe in giving honest feed back to everyone ,

Trev..

Peptic,
I think at .35 to .54minutes then 1.42 to 2.00 and 2.40 tothe end all could be used....the effects in between need work. They sound cool , however not very musical and seemed out of place. I would thicken (increase)the Bass scoop the mids (set very low) and roll off a bit of Treble for your tone. That will give a thick chunk sound for that Metal Like song your working on.

Here's what Hilch is referring to. dmusic.com | "Your Digital Music Oasis" It's labelled Practice. I find if I put the song name on dmusic I get comments from dmusic users on it about as useful as poop polish.

My ears would like to hear a rhythm track, although another guit, or bass, or even lyrics might put it all together. I might also cut out one or more effect. Maybe if they were blended it would sound like an experimental art piece. At the moment, other than the interesting 'insane guitar', the other parts sounded a bit like they were just effects changes just for that purpose. The tempo seems to keep it from being a true mood piece. That's why a drum track sounds like a good idea to me... just my two bits worth. To me the guitar playing holds promise but the piece sounds like segments patched together.
