Village

I also posted this in songwriting, lyrics can be found there, if interested. Thought I would throw it up here for some critique...Not as smooth as I would like(some obviuos flubs)anyway, opinions and feedback welcome.

Thanks, I went from the guitar to the amp to the computer. I don't know if that is how most people do it, but it seemed to work for me.

You're already well on your way to living up to your name. That's a good clean sound you have there. Not too twangy or muddy.

Your chords sound clean and clear. The chord changes will get smoother over time. Remember your recording settings because the volume and mix is very good.

How do you go from your amp to your computer? This may sound a daft question but I was told that if I plugged my amp into my computer it could blow my soundcard, that's why i've been struggling with a tiny headphone mic on my 2 recordings.
I used the headphone plug, and went from that to the in-line jack. The only problem is the you do not hear the guitar real well. I hear it a little bit through the computers speakers but it is almost like playing it without it being plugged in. Hope that helps.

That's only true if you use the wrong output from your amp. If you use the wrong one then you probably will blow up your soundcard, or worse. You may even end up being a suspected member of Eta.

I agree your tone and recording sounds really good. Work a little on those chord changes just to get them smoother. Overall nice job

You're coming along nicely, Brian! You definitely have a good recording setup - very clear with good tone. Your chord changes and timing will come with practice, but you're already fingering your chords very cleanly, and that's important! I didn't hear much buzz or "dead" strings as you played the chords. Keep up the good work!
