Note Naming and Note Finding options
With the
NOTE NAMING option selected, the fret number will be shown on any string. Name the note that appears on that string and fret before the answer is revealed.
With the
NOTE FINDING option selected, the note name will be shown on any string. Name the fret where that note occurs on the string selected within the chosen fret range before the answer is revealed.
Fret Range
Select whichever fret range you want to focus on.
Note: In the highest fret range, when you enter a fret number above 19, make sure you then click the level 5 button to enter the required range.
Tip Frets 12 - 24 are exactly an octave higher than frets 0 - 12 and have exactly the same note names as their corresponding lower frets, (12 frets lower) e.g. any note on fret 15 will have the same name as the note on fret 3 of the same string (15 - 12 = 3). Seeing the 12th fret as the equivalent of the open strings (EADGBE) is quite a common and convenient way of visualising the higher frets.
Speed
Choose the speed (slow, medium or fast) that best suits your current level within the selected fret range.
If the slow or medium speeds are too easy, move to the next speed level or move to a higher fret range.
If the slowest speed is too fast for you, use the
pause button until you have improved enough to do without it.
