New to this group, but old to guitars and posts! ha ha

I spend most of my free time either working on my live.space site, or answering questions asked about others Alvarez, Alvarez Yairi, K. Yairi or Sadao Yairi models.

Hi, I've been playing acoustic guitar for 2 years. I've taken 2 beginner's classes in school, but still can't seem to get beyond the beginner stage. I mostly want to be able to play praise and worship music, although I'm open to trying other things as well. At this point I know a few songs well enough to sing along with them, but I don't know enough chords to learn many other songs. I especially have difficulty with barre chords, which I have yet to be able to play.

...my name is Scott...from Scotland...and as you can see from my choice of username, not particularly imaginative! lol

Im in my early 20's and just feel the urge to learn a new hobby. I feel like I have lots of spare time, but never really do anything constructive to fill that time; cue the guitar.

I drink a lot aswell, and I feel I drink out of boredom at the weekends. I really want to find a hobby which will inspire, motivate and capture me as a person, and hopefully remove the boredom from my life.

I dont plan to become a rock star (although that would be cool), i just want a good, rewarding hobby.

I love my music, quite diverse tastes I may add; Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Clash, Misfits, Stiff Little Fingers, Rod Stewart, Dire Straits, MGMT, AC/DC, Kenny Rodgers, Bob Dylan, Stereophonics... (Fav Song at the Moment; "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts - Bob Dylan)

Just purchased a new acoustic guitar recently (only a cheap one just now, planning to get a better, more expensive one after I feel I deserve it!)

Thats my story, and im looking forward to speding time on the forums and learning from a collective pool of experience!

My name is Alan and I'm what I suppose what you'd call a student of guitar. I've played for many years and can hold my own playing many styles of music. Lately I've immersed myself in the general study of theory and it's application to the instrument. I find modes fascinating as hell. My hobby, besides playing that is, is finding great players nobody has ever heard of on Youtube and the like and then downloading the vids to study (and share) later.

Just found this web site and look forward to being a part of this on-line community. I'm sure I'll learn loads and if I can offer any help or advice to anyone, please feel free to ask.

I have a bit of an odd-ball style of playing but I've been at it for around 40 years so I guess I won't be changing much now.

I love African congo soukous style of playing and I spend lots of time on that at the moment. Have played bass for years in a jazz band and sang and played guitar in various reggae bands.

I now play as a one man set up, mainly local bars and restaurants and pool parties in Summer. Play a lot of reggae but really bits of anything I like, blues, Irish, a little Santana. I use a looper sometimes.

My name is Aaron, Im new to the world of guitar playing, Im hoping this community will help me along as I have no like minded friends to play with or learn from where I am.

Musically I like mostly metal of all sorts (my username is a Killswitch Engage song) but I will be happy when I can play any song. I am currently playing a 3 or 4 year old Peavey Raptor and I have no amp but am looking to change that soon.

I started playing the guitar a little over 6 months ago. I started off learning a lot of blues and bluesy stuff, but lately I've been moving more towards the ironically opposing metal (a renewed taste for Judas Priest, I suppose) and Acoustic (because I lurned me some chords, and for whatever reason I have difficulty with learning solos).

Hi everyone. I'm not exactly a new member , but it has been a long time since I was on this fantastic site, maybe 7-8 months. There is a very good reason for that. I've had some major changes go on in my life. I have just gone through a divorce and I now have a new partner and I'm now living in Canada on the east coast New Brunswick. As you can imagine there has been a lot of stress and the last thing that was on my mind was playing guitar for a few months, Well now my life is starting to get into some normality
again and I'm now playing on a regular basis. So for those who remember me,,, Doug is back.:yeahhh: :smilinguitar:

I've been wanting to do this for a looooong time. I picked up a Fender Starcaster 'starter kit' that just arrived yesterday along with the Getting Stated on Electric Guitar with Keith Wyatt DVD. That moves a little too fast for someone that has only thought about this for about 20 years and has just now really held one so I'll go back to that when I get the basics down at a little slower speed. T:weirdeyes: hat looks like it might be found here. I went with an electric guitar because when I think of acoustic I think of having to sing as well....nope. Been looking online for the free stuff and decided to join here.

First question: How in the world do you get three fingers at the same fret? I hope it's practice and "it'll happen over time" and not that guitar is more suited for people with small hands or some guitars have more space between frets. That's killing me right now!!!:eek:
