No!! It sure isn't, but like allthumbs says, it does get easier. If it was easy, the whole world would be twanging away. Enjoy the challenge, stick at it, get through the pain barrier and before you know it, you'll be making music.

Nope, it's definitely not easy. But one of my all-time favorite quotes goes, "Nothing worth having is easy"! Hang in there - learning guitar is a true accomplishment, and being able to make music is a gift from Heaven.

We only have one goal, "To be better than the day before" it's a fantastic feeling to be able to play any musical instrument. I dont think there is a guitarist out there that think's they are good enough. Hence this site.

When I first came onto this site and seen the lessons I thought no way, but If you read around the site, follow what Kirk says and you will be amazed what you can learn, I have been playing for years but got stuck in old Rockers stuff and always wished I could play finger style, I have really worked hard but am winning now. It`s a great pleasure to to work on a piece ( Takes me a few weeks ) but when It finally clicks you cant believe the satisfaction and feeling of being quite pround with yourself.
Thanks to Kirk and all Involved in a great site...
Tony....

Yep agree with Tony, you get a great sense of acheivement once you have learned a piece, then look back an think how hard it was and how easy it is now once you have learned it.....

Yea man the guitar requires practice. Practise makes perfect. As you practice, after a while, you will look back and realise you're actually a lot more fluent with the guitar!

There are a ton of sites and sales men that would have you believe that spending money is the key to learning. Some investment is required, as with anything, but this site is the real deal for people that want to learn.

Kirk's lesson vary in difficulty so there is something for EVERYONE here! Make sure your starting with the true beginner stuff and work your way up.

The key is to enjoy yourself and WILL improve.

Best of luck to you my friend.....your in very good company here :-)

Jason

As the TV commercial goes.."It won't happen overnight, but it will happen"

Don't panic DW, you'll get there with some determination and effort and don't forget to enjoy yourself in the process.

I second DW's position...and I know it will fall into place...I am driving my family insane
with my practicing..oh well, I pay the bills...they'll have to get over it. For years, I played in a country band and didn't even attempt fingerpicking, and thus didn't even scratch the surface of the guitar's potential...I'm glad I'm finally doing it now...One thing noticed... the arrangement of the fretboard and chords and notes is absolutely
GENIUS!
