Hey Kirk,

Just wondering what settings you use, say on your amp and such, when you record the songs you have on the lessons.

Do you use standard e tuning or do you drop d it, or a combination of?

Just curious, cause when learning would love to be playing in the same tone that you are.

Hi randomaire.

Most lessons are standard tuning. When I use dropped D, I always let you know either in the title or early on in the explanation. I don't use an amp, so nothing to report there. I have a fairly good mic (a Rode) and I record using Adobe Audition. I add a touch of mids to the EQ and a bit of reverb to enhance the sound. Other than that it's all in the fingers.

I play electro-acoustic guitar. You're pro at guitar playing so I want to ask you something about EQ.

How I need to set my EQ on guitar (I have bass, mid, treble and presence) to get acoustic sound. When every frequency range on the EQ is 0dB I have sound with too much bass...

And, by the way, what means "presence"? Can't figure it out.

You said that you use the reverb effect. What are the effects that work well on acoustic?

Hi marinoFret.

EQ is really a matter of personal taste, but if there's too much bass, just take some out! Experiment with the EQ until you find a balance you like. I've never known exactly what presence means either, but it seems to add treble when I fiddle with it.

Anybody else have any advice?
