  ragtime lesson...

Thanks to Kirk for this great example and lesson of ragtime playing.

I now your a very busy man but have you ever thought about having a site for the more advanced players? I think people of all skill levels have something to learn from you.

I've been playing off and on for 15 years but since finding this site and getting Plain Talk I have learned more in the last few months than I thought I was capable of.

Keep up the excellent work Kirk!

Many thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason. I get confused sometimes on this forum when people use the phrase Plane Talk. Have you bought the Plane Talk book and are studying the method or are you simply refering to the beginners lesson pages? Try buying some of Kirks paid lessons if you want to be challenged more. One main theme of the Plane Talk Forum and method is to learn how to improv on the fly. Some would consider this to be the highest skill level a player can aspire to. Kirks' P.T. method teaches simplicity so it would be counterproductive to have a site that taught complex pieces without the means to simplify them using his method, in my opinion.

Thanks Jason.

As allthumbs mentioned, there are some lessons accessible through the PlaneTalkers' forum ...

I'm always a little worried that the lessons I create for GfB aren't maybe a little too advanced for beginners. They really should be classified as 'intermediate' I think. But, one way or the other, I'll keep 'em comin'!

  Tabs in Ragtime Lesson

Hi there,

I've enjoyed following and learning from your online lessons, the videos are especially helpful. However I was wondering if the tabs for the Ragtime lesson are available or have they been removed permanently...?

Hi Pigasus ... I have no trouble seeing the tab image. I'm not sure why you are; have you tried right clicking to "show picture". It's there, I just checked.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
