  Kirk's Unchained Melody

I'm trying to play Kirk's "Unchained Melody" as he has written it, but I can't quite figure out what is written a couple places in the song. Can anyone tell me on 9th bar there seems to be a "p" or something there. I don't know if that's a pull off or what, if it is, I don't know how you pull off before hitting the actual note. Also in bar 13, there is something written next to the last two notes, is telling me that it's going to be a slide from the 5th fret to the 3rd?
Thanks,
hb

The 0 to 2 is a fast hammer on. Small numbers usuall indicate ghost notes. The 13 bar is a slide from the 3 to the 5. Some people prefer putting a trill there ie. 3 hammer on 5 pull off back to the 3 on the 5 string. Hope that helps.

Thanks! The notation was so small that I was having trouble distinguishing that.

Hi hb,

If you're interested, I've done a little video recording of this tune in the members recording section. I think you can see the hammer on I've attemped that your question relates to.

Your question prompted me to go and find the lesson. Thanks.

Sleepy.

Welcome to the forum!

I find you very offencive and I hope your future posts are bit more positive. A lot of what we play is our own interpretation of any song so please try harder to fit in or post some your own masterpieces so we can hail to your god like status!

I think if you get a copy of the song and listen to it you'll see were
the parts fit in

Hi lineagecreed ... I sort of condensed the verse and chorus into that one little movie. The verse ends half way through and should be repeated (I guess); the chorus is the bit that starts on that C chord at about the halfway mark.

For $1.50 or so, you can buy the tune from iTunes. There are dozens of covers by different artists.

By the way: I didn't find your post to be offensive either.
