  Old Time Rag

As The Entertainer is one of my favourite films and Old Time Rag is an approximation of the tune, I just have to learn this one.

Watch this space!

Sleepy.

  Guitar choice

Kirk, this question is for you. I was finally getting into the lessons here. WOW!
I was wondering what brand and model of guitar you used in the movie for that song. Very nice guitar! It reminds me of the Eric Clapton model: Martin 00-28ec.

If I ever buy another guitar. It will be something similar to the guitar you used for old time rag. Could you elaborate on this: Is it a steel string classical guitar?

Thanks....

I'm also the author of PlaneTalk - The Truly Totally Different Guitar Instruction Book. The lesson that this book, slide-rule and DVD teach is the most powerful of all: the 'trick' to seeing the entire fretboard as friendly, familiar territory. If you're beyond the beginner stage -- you know your chords, scales, maybe even modes -- but you're still wondering how to turn it all into music, how to invent and improvise, how to access all the bits and pieces, then this is the book for you. You will also be able to join the private PlaneTalkers' Forum and discuss the simple visualization technique with me and many others. - Read more here .

Testimonials

I’m not sure just how I came upon your web site but I’m glad I did. What a truly refreshing approach to teaching, and for me, learning. I’ve been playing guitar for 35 years and I’ve tried several different books and videos to improve on what skills (as limited as they are) I have. It was stale and boring and at least for me very difficult to comprehend. I had relinquished myself to being content with the level of ability I had. After some reading on your web site I ordered and received your book, video etc. I now have the enthusiasm I had when I first began to learn guitar and just wanted to say thanks.”
