SWEET! Thanks for posting that, Kirk! Great stuff, as always.
I love The Star Spangled Banner, it's a great tune.
I've got a Star Spangled Banner version I worked up over several years, beginning in early September 2001 when, as a novice slider, I noticed that the opening notes of the SSB could be found on the open strings in Open D tuning. I'd just come up with a really basic version when the World Trade Center was attacked, and I've always associated it with that since. Came up with a three parter, first verse pretty traditional, interrupted at the end by two "bangs," morphing into a mournful minor key version, ending with a happier, sort of ragtimey boogie version. (Kind of a "We Shall Overcome" idea.) Here's a version I recorded last September: http://oldengine.org/members/culp/St...gledBlues2.mp3

Very cool Ricochet, very evocative. Quintessentially American.

Even though I am not American, I have always loved this tune. Well done Kirk for your lovely arrangement of it. This is on my 'to learn' list most definately.
Brian.

The tune is of course originally an English one, from the slightly bawdy drinking and wenching song "To Anacreon In Heaven," but we Americans have quite happily adopted and accepted it as our own.

Thanks for the nice feedback, everyone. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
That's interesting about the history of the tune, Ricochet, I never knew that. Thanks for that too, I love to learn something new!

Very nice rendition sleepy. Good tone, finger control and quick study too!
