  Double Stop Blues

Double stops are my cup of tea
They're all over the place
So I guess that suits me
A harmony here and a harmony there
Up, down and around
No worries or care -
Each tone in it's place,
Find a bass note that pleases
For a tune full of grace
Add a chord tone that teases -
Learn to play them with ease
That's like heaven for me
Like I said at the start
They are my cup of tea.

Or.....

Double stops are right up my alley
Unlike Tom or Joelene
(Don't even think about Sally!)
They care not a jot
For a double stop song
They shred and play loud
For me that's all wrong
I love to find harmony
In two notes or five
Then string them together
Till a song comes alive
So thank you again
For a tune to discover
And hope you don't mind
While I murder (yet) another.

...

Your way with words
never fails to impress,
it must be a gift
with which you were blessed.
I wasn't so much, which is why
this poem in reply
just lost all meter and
doesn't rhyme ... sort of.

See?
