Tears in Heaven help
firstly i don't know how to do the hammer off and pull off. i read about how to do them on the site, and tried but i couldn't figure it out. Also about the second bar, i kept playing it, but it doesn't sound like the song. i listened to the one played in the lessons so many times but i still couldn't figure out why it doesn't sound like the song.

Ok.For the hammer on -pull off. Pluck the string forcefully and push your index down on the string fast like your trying to squash a bug before it gets away. Practice that part until you get a clear note. The pull off is not so straight forward. You are actualy plucking the string as you raise your finger. In other words, your finger moves towards the floor as you are moving it off the string in preparation for the next hammer on. Practice this by starting with your finger already on the string. Pluck the string with your other hand and then do the pull off. You should hear the same note at the same volume. Then put the two together without plucking the string after the hammer on. and you have your hammeron-pulloff. The faster you do it the easier it is to get the volume. Kirk does it quite fast so you should not have any problem with the volume.
In the second bar, make sure you damp the 0 before you start the slide to the four. That is the only thing I can think of. Let me know if that helps.

This lesson was my first journey into the hammer-on pull-off world. I actually just played the notes to begin with then went back to learn the hammer on pull offs... this helped because I got the timing down first.
I as well could not make this sound anything like Tears in Heaven ala Kirk to begin with. What helped me was playing it with a metronome, starting very slow until speeding it up
It was a joyous day in my house when I played it and my wife, a musician, began singing along

this onesounds much better on classical guitar than steel, but the repeating d shape is a big stretch across for me with the wider classical guitar neck, also when it drops down an octave from the slide it almost doesnt sound right but im sure its just my learner ears,
