Suggestion - multi-part lesson tabs?
Kirk - new member, I'm impressed with all the work you have done.
My suggestion: is there a place where you could put all the tab in one place for multiple-lesson songs? For example, "Always on my mind" has 3 lessons, and there are 3 pieces of tab. It'd be great if you could have the whole song available someplace.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim and welcome. That's a good idea but unfortunately that would also be a rather time consuming thing to do... plus, we don't want to make it too easy for ya, you've got to work a bit too
But, seriously, it would just take too much time and we just don't have enough of it as it is. The TAB files are image files that would need to be joined and then resaved and then re-uploaded and then linked from the various lessons. Either that or all three Guitarpro files would have to be reimported and the TAB resaved and then uploaded linked etc. You get my drift.
Anyway, that's the problem. We just don't have the time, at this stage anyway.

The material quality is class. I know it's for free too and that is possibly attracting a lot of users. My feeling however is that there are many other websites out there charging money and offering a lot less. You should give a load more thought to a subscription based service and/or other ways in which to finance your efforts here. As much as this is a lovely website with fantastic guitar-gen on board; it won't be all that great if it runs out of loot!
PS: I ran a free aviation jobs site for a number of years (sold) and have a good idea how to go about getting the cash-flow up without chasing your users away. Happy to share some knowledge as well as resources if you're interested..?

No it's not a no DE_South. We are always happy to hear suggestions. PM me anytime. I should make it clear though, this site isn't going to be running out of loot. I'm not sure how I gave that impression in my answer to the original question here. It was the time issue that I was trying to get across.
Also I should mention that there are issues with making this a subscription site. I'm not going to go into it here in this thread, but if you PM me, I'll be happy to discuss it with you.
Cheers

Just for the record; I wasn't suggesting that this site was about to run out of loot. I'm simply stating that free, service-oriented websites that fail to generate cash, inevitably run out of enthusiasm as well as cash. Now, I imagine that Kirk's book and DVD's are doing rather well out of this site, but I can also imagine that those sales will plateau with the eventual levelling-off of new members.

Very well put... and I couldn't agree more... so, can I expect a PM from you telling me some of your secrets?

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
