  Nylong String Jazz...

YouTube - Nylon string jazz - guitar improvisation

Kirk! Explain yourself! That's great. Ever think about
making that a lesson? I'd love to know the details on
jazz improv.

I thought it was an improvisation.

Either way, I'm about 1/2 done with Maple Leaf Rag and would
love another challenge. Preferably something that will also get
me my own groupies.

It's an improvisation over the chords of "Getting Sentimental Over You", an old jazz tune, but the melody is quite well stated, so I think I'd be on thin ice with it.

I'll work on something challenging soon!

I'm also the author of PlaneTalk - The Truly Totally Different Guitar Instruction Book. The lesson that this book, slide-rule and DVD teach is the most powerful of all: the 'trick' to seeing the entire fretboard as friendly, familiar territory. If you're beyond the beginner stage -- you know your chords, scales, maybe even modes -- but you're still wondering how to turn it all into music, how to invent and improvise, how to access all the bits and pieces, then this is the book for you. You will also be able to join the private PlaneTalkers' Forum and discuss the simple visualization technique with me and many others. - Read more here .

Testimonials

Kirk - I recently purchased your book Plane Talk (PDF format) and am currently making my second pass through it. Even on the first quick read-through, concepts that have eluded me all these years of playing were finally clarified. So thanks, I expect to get a lot out of it.
