  Figure out this tune !

Hey guys, I came across this video while searching for a martin om21. This guy is demonstrating the awesome sounds of some acoustic amp.

I thought the tune is very catchy. I tried to learn it just by watching it but I couldnt get past the 3rd chord! Can someone help me figure out this song? thx

Sounds like 'Dock of the Bay' to me.

E to G#7 to A to F#7 ... that's the opening bit.

Fishman, who make that particular amp, have a pickup range called Rare Earth which was actually designed by high-end guitar maker Mike Vanden based here in Scotland. His guitars are quite beautiful, some of which can be seen here http://www.vanden.co.uk

The workshop tour on the website is quite interesting and check out those prices for a laugh (£1 = $1.7US = $2.3AUS = $2CAN)

I'm also the author of PlaneTalk - The Truly Totally Different Guitar Instruction Book. The lesson that this book, slide-rule and DVD teach is the most powerful of all: the 'trick' to seeing the entire fretboard as friendly, familiar territory. If you're beyond the beginner stage -- you know your chords, scales, maybe even modes -- but you're still wondering how to turn it all into music, how to invent and improvise, how to access all the bits and pieces, then this is the book for you. You will also be able to join the private PlaneTalkers' Forum and discuss the simple visualization technique with me and many others. - Read more here .

Testimonials

I bought and downloaded your book on Thursday or Friday and already am loving it! You are right in that I knew something like this existed somewhere, the recognition of these related and moveable patterns. I saw it coming the first time I tuned my 6 strings to each other. It was obvious that something like your trick was there waiting for me...thanks.
