  Forbidden Games

Hi there. Indeed this is a great site, with a lot to learn. While looking for some guitar techniques, I happened to see this very nice piece of instrumental music which happened to be one of my favorites since many, many years back. Think I'll start with this one. Thanks a lot for the lessons for this. I'll set aside my "pentatonics" practice for a while . Better still, when my fretting hand gets tired from doing those scales, I'll practice my picking hand with this.

I'd rather clarify my second sentence.

"Indeed this is a great site, with ME a lot to learn."

Hi, this is found in Kirk's finger style lessons and there are 2 parts. From my browser the first part is in page 3 of the finger style lessons.
(I can not yet post a link)

Glad you're enjoying it, scorpius.

Here's the link to part 2; the link to part 1 is there:

I'm also the author of PlaneTalk - The Truly Totally Different Guitar Instruction Book. The lesson that this book, slide-rule and DVD teach is the most powerful of all: the 'trick' to seeing the entire fretboard as friendly, familiar territory. If you're beyond the beginner stage -- you know your chords, scales, maybe even modes -- but you're still wondering how to turn it all into music, how to invent and improvise, how to access all the bits and pieces, then this is the book for you. You will also be able to join the private PlaneTalkers' Forum and discuss the simple visualization technique with me and many others. - Read more here .

Testimonials

Hi Kirk, I just wanted to tell you that I wish I had this book years ago, when I first started playing guitar...While I did already know some of the material in your book, I had never put it together in my mind as clearly and concisely as you have... I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be able to find their way around the fret board. You really did a great job.
