An American Pie lesson?
Who would all like an American Pie lesson? The one by Don Mclean? A shortened version of course.
The song is a masterpiece, and I believe Kirk could make a great fingerstyle arrangement out of it.
Another idea for a lesson, how about Time after Time by by cindy lauper?
If you make the lessons, Kirk, I promise to learn em' and post a recording of each.

Sorry ysidewinder but it's unlikely that Kirk will be producing any more lessons that are based on tunes still under copyright.

Ah, I see. Makes sense. Alright, nevermind then.
I thought there was a clause in the copyright law that said small parts of songs could be tabbed and played out legally, if for learning purposes? Maybe thats changed.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Since Kirk isn't planning on doing lessons based on copyright, I hope it's okay if I link to another Web site, based on the request for "Time After Time".
There is a lesson at the Guitar Noise Web site:

Enjoy.

Thanks Mudslideslim. I looked at that lesson, and the chords have been very useful.
I'm going to make my own arrangement, and see how it turns out. I've got two parts down, theres just the prechorus/chorus and part of the verse to go. I can't find accurate chords for american pie, so I'll keep trying to find the right chords, and see if I can make something out of that too.
I also have "circle of life" in mind for a fingerstyle arrangement, and I"m having trouble finding good chords for that one. As I understand it, there are some quite complicated chords in there.
We'll see how all these arrangements turn out.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
