GFB&B Blues Jam, all welcome
Right come on you lot who is up for a blues jam?
Young, old, Noobies, pro's, acoustic players, even singers! Come on lets fire up our recording software and put a piece together from the community again as its been a long time.
Attached a is a quick blues track I made tonight its in A and its a 116bpm there are 3 cycles of standard 12 bar blues with a small count in for 1 bar. Have a jam over this track for as many of the cycles as you want and send me the recording and I can put them together (unless someone else wants the job....please!).
To be organized lets say you have until next Sunday (12th January at 12:00 GMT) to record your part. Place your name down on here and send your part to krissovo at yahoo(dot)com. If you cannot figure out the cryptic email then PM me.
Singers
It would be great to break up the jams with the odd verse or two of some singing. Even if you write some lyrics for this post them up and I will press gang some other members to have a go.
Noobies
Just starting out on the blues and scales? Then have a go your selves, there is no shame and use this thread to ask for some ideas in getting off the ground.
So come on have a go!

With 55,000 members this could take a while to mix, after posting this I hope at least one member fancies a go!

My first thoughts (without much thought) are
When my heart is feeling blue
There's one thing I love to do
(Just) picking up my old guitar
To sing - -
A song - -
For you - - (yeah etc)

Great stuff, now who has a gruff blues voice to record these????
OK I have two volunteers so far so it might be a small jam, however the quality is top class so far. I have been sent clean tracks so I might change the rhythm slightly.
Any more to join in?

Well I've travelled the World
Done many things
But nothing can compete
With My guitar when it sings
Thought I'd throw this in the ring Krissovo, great Idea, great tune
Cheers
Chris

Krissovo,
Count me in!!
Got a few questions, though.
On the track I downloaded, it abruptly ended. Was this the way the file was? Or did I encounter a problem on my end?
Also, do we just do one complete cycle or just a bit of it?
And, you said you were sent some clean tracks. Does this mean leads that were using non distorted tones? Cause I was going to use a definite distortion on my take.

Hey Andy
Good to have you on board!
It does end quickly, this is so I can piece them together so it will be seamless . If its a problem or if there is a better way please let me know.
You play as long as you want, there is a about 1:20 or so which is 3 cycles if you want more or less its up to you.
Lastly the clean track was not about distortion etc, sorry my bad English. I was sent tracks that did not have the backing track on, it was just the recorded guitar piece. I dont care how they are sent though as long as I can mix it in.

COOL!!! No problem with the abrupt ending, just wanted to make sure nothing was happening to it on my end.
I'll start later tonight. I'll probably try a bunch of different takes using both the Strat and the Dean Evo. So it may take a couple of days.

Well, I don't know how down or dirty!! HA!! But I'm leaning toward a "tweed" or Blues sound on my J-Station.
The last collaboration worked out really well!! Let's hope this one is as good!!

Count me in for some singing- I'll pull out the ol' Howlin' Wolf pipes for it.
I'll likely lay down a track of guitar playing as well, as poor as my solo skills are....

This one kicks off with the blues cliche (just so we know its Blues)
(Well),I woke up this mornin'
My heart was feelin' blue
I logged, into, GFB,
And found my friends had too.
All my friends were playing
And some were singin' too
The sun came out all over the world
And we owe it all to you.
GFB, GFB,
Whatever would we do
If Kirk and Clancy were not there
To make our dreams come true.
Damn, I now realise that I need 3 lines of 4 beats to a line....(I'm working on it).....

Hang on, you guys have all done 4 lines of 4 beats to the bar??? Doesn't 3 X 4 = 12? I guess I'll have to listen to the mp3 again (I'll have time later).

Good point Carol, if the songs 12 bar blues, then I think the verses here already should be in 3 lines but there's room for manouvre with the lyrics that have been posted, anybody want to write it out,my knowledge of the blues is quite limited by the way. so if I'm wrong please tell me.
