A few ideas

First off, let me apologize for the poor notation in some of these files. I don't know how to read music or write notation so sometimes my times are off or the bars are all screwed up. I do the best I can but a couple of the files have some bad notations but they sound right.

Sometimes I just don't quite know what time signature a part is in or how to get the beats right but they do sound right to me lol.

These are a few of my original ideas that I've been trying to figure out where to go with them. Most of the time I can only get a part of an idea out right and other times I have no idea where to go with them. Especially with the basslines.

If any of you guys wanna play around with them, have fun!

"h from h" I think some of you soloists could have a field day with.

"Moonrise" is just a couple of chords looped over and over in my attempt to try and create a song off of it while listening to it. I don't know what I did with the tab of it but you can just import the tab from the midi. Might be fun for soloists to try out diffrent things with.

"Big Drop 2" is an alternate tuning from low to high DAEG#BE. Just can't really seem to get a bassline that sounds good with it. If any of you guys like Third Eye Blind, it has that kind of feel to it. Upbeat and melodical.

"For Melanie" is another fun one for soloists I think and I have one part of the bass that sounds great but can't really get that upbeat kind of bassline on the rest of it. I attempted a little solo I think sounds okay, but would be cool to hear your takes on it.

I don't have "Blossoming Addicition" tabbed out but it's standard tuning except the B and E strings are tuned a half step up each to make the song easier to play. I posted the song and bassline parts for it in a former post.

My hopes would be that some of you out there might dig one of them and have ideas to lay down on them. I think they're not too bad and would like to see what you guys think.

Hi knight and thanks for the welcome on the other thread. I can post the midi of them if you like. So do you have Guitar Pro 3 or no Guitar Pro at all?

It's an awesome program! If you don't have it they have a free demo/trial and you can open up tabs with it and create your own. After so many days it still plays tabs but limits you to 25 bars on your own tabs.

I am totally new to some of this so no Guitar Pro at all. Will probably look into it as it looks like something that will come in handy. Thanks for the headsup on the demo version.

It's a sweet little program. You don't have to know notation but you have to have some understanding of note counts (beats) but all you do is program it note for note on the virtual fretboard and it tabs it out for you along with notation.

You can play with different sounds and layer track upon track. I love it. Even a metronome clicks off for you if you want to practice exercises with. Sometimes you can't really get it to do exactly what you have in your head but it has many options you can use to get all kinds of sounds and accents.

Hi Testekleeze, welcome to the site, I'm in the same boat as Knight46 as regards Guitar pro, I'll check out the free download, Moonrise St. sounds promising, I'll have a go at that, some of the other guys will probably be more help than me, at the moment I'm trying to sort out a basic recording setup, sounds like you're pretty well set up for recording so a collaboration with other players should be a lot of fun, good luck and thanks for posting your ideas.

Cheers

Chris

Once you get Guitar Pro demo installed, you can go to File menu>Import and choose from midi and select the Moonrise file and it will tab it out for you if you have any trouble going by ear. Not that it's complicated by any means but I know some people have a hard time going by ear.

That's another cool feature about Guitar Pro you can Import from midi or export your tab to mid. I'm not setup for recording just yet but I will be soon. Gotta get me an electric gitter and a good soundcard first.

That's really my favorite thing about Guitar Pro is that I don't have to show someone how something is played, I can relay the idea and they instantly see what's going on. They can add tracks and layers to it and you can just keep going back and forth adding on.

Next best thing to a studio and a band lol.
