I need lyrics!!!
I've got a snippet of a song that could be developed into something pretty nifty, I think, but my weakness is lyrics. I'm trying to come up with something snappy and witty to go along with this. If anyone has any ideas or wants to take a crack at writing some lyrics for this, it would be hugely appreciated. I've only got about 30 minutes into this song including recording time, so don't worry if it needs to get re-arranged.

Sounds like a fun challenge Chris, sure you'll get some great takes from this bunch. You leaning towards any particular type of subject preference?

Chris, loved the tune, to me a it had speak easy gangster sort of vibe to it , I could just see a tall woman in a black dress singing breathy vocals to it .

Chris,
That was super. The drum tracks sound as real as it gets.
Sounded like you had someone right there with you.
The mix came out balanced too. Good job.
Seem's like you found some great software.
Question, were you plugged in with the guitar or all through mic.

Sounds great as an instrumental but if you must put lyrics in there then I would suggest finding Nora Jones agents number and give him/her a ring. Sounds perfect for her husky voice.
Best of luck with the project!

Chris,
Good tune, I felt an almost Latin flavor. It would fit nicely with upbeat blues, maybe even Jazzy/Blues. Good start.
She walked on me yesterday
But you know that's OK
I got another lady on the line
She won't be giving me no hard time
Maybe something like that...?

Good ideas- I dig Norah Jones. She's got a cool sound.
I figure this could be a jazzy-blues kind of number either for me to sing with a hint of Louis Armstrong "huskiness", or I can try to pull my kid sister in to sing it, depending on what lyrics I (or anyone else) can come up with.
I had a bit of an idea in my head that was tumbling around when coming up with the chord progression- all you folks that have been married for a while and have full work lives, a house and kids to take care of, etc., will understand this- my wife and I constantly talk trash to each other during the day regarding "bedroom activities", but by the time we fall into bed, there's hardly enough energy for a good night kiss let alone anything else. So I was kind of thinking along those lines, with a hook something like "there you go again, talking trash."

I can't believe I'm posting this, and you'll soon know why I don't sing.
anyways...here my thought line on this Chris. just a sample and a sorry job of editing, but it didn't take long to realize I'm out of my league here, but it was good for a laugh. Sorry for the fingernails on the chalkboard vocals, but you get what you pay for {LOL} Even though this was free, I imagine you'll all want a rebate after this.
if you can forgive my singing and so-so lyrics, I promise I won't try to sing again.

its evening and we lie together there on our bed
not right now honey I've got an ache in my head
Talking Trash
There you go again baby just talking trash

X4 that was good, but the volcals need to go up more.
Heck of a low voice, that would be great as a backup singer for sure.

LOL! Love the background vocals! Taking it in yet another direction from what I was thinking. Good ideas there, Xstring.
CanuckTodd was kind enough to shoot over some lyrics to a song he had put together and strangely enough, they seem to fit like a glove! With some very minor tweaking, I think we might have a song. I'm going to ask my sister to sing it- she may be able to put a bit of Nora Jones in there. Now to get it all together........
