Hi I have fat finger tips and find it hard to get some good clean chords any suggestions? Also what should I look for in a guitar or what type neck should I get?

What kind of guitar? Acoustic or electric? What is your price range? What do you want to play?

Everybody finds it hard to play good, clean chords in the beginning - whether you have fat/thin/long/short/clumsy/graceful fingers. With plenty of practice you will find that unless you have sausages for fingers, anybody can play the guitar. For inspiration, read up on Django Reinhardt - he was a masterful guitar player, and had two mangled/partially paralyzed fingers on his left (fretting) hand! He fought through it and became a famous, highly influential guitarist.

"I wish I could play that fast - then I would have the option of not doing that."

Have a look at a Seagull S6, largest nut width (1.8) that I could find for my fat fingers.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
