Correct, according to the USPS, shipping a Musical Instrument to Iran is prohibited.

Is it illegal to ship every part needed to build a guitar to Iran as long as the instrument isn't assembled?

The risks sound high. I am surprised anyone has a guitar and amp over there. I would have thought you would get turned in pretty quick. Be careful man.

I don't think anyone can help you here, but here is how I would start.

Is the restriction on musical instruments an import restriction ( no one can bring them in )? If so stop now. You are committing a crime and we do not want to facilitate that type of action.

Is the restriction an export ban ( the US does not allow export of musical instruments to Iran )? If so try and find a reshipper in a country that is semi-friendly with both the US and Iran. You would ship to them and they would ship to you. This will be a costly and high risk transaction, but it's at least possible.

Is there possibly a re-seller in the UK or elsewhere you could buy it from? That might be an option to explore.
