For a complete newbie to guitar (and music) how is this from Ibanez?

Ok, just some back story on myself. Don't know much about music, but very very interested in guitars and willing to put the time and effort to play well. I'm currently reading on music theory and then would start on frets tabs etc, and hope to start playing a guitar in 2007 (Summer maybe).

For some advice, would getting an acoustic-electric guitar be something I should start off with?
Ibanez AW100LECE Artwood Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar
I found this one for about 450 USD. Sorry, can't link, but googling it should work.
I'm lefty as you can tell

I've seen great reviews for it, but no reviews on how it would do for someone new to guitars. Please ask any question to me you feel necessary as I'm sure it would help.
(No drum jokes please )

I have the Ibanez Artwood CE acoustic, and I'm quite pleased with it.

Looks good. Do you have an amp to play it through?

Nope, but I was going to start looking for one after I heard more about this guitar. Do you recommend any? I'm not sure about price range, but lets just say about 200. Hopefully amps are too high priced

Take a look at this one.
http://www.music123.com/Ibanez-TA20-...-i129458.music

It got good reviews and is about 1/2 the price of other acoustic amps. It would make a good pratice amp and can be miked for more volume. Everything else is in the 300 range.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Ibanez I have, an AEF18ET. It is very easy to play and is an excellent choice for a beginner. The sound is not quite as loud as a full-sized Dreadnaught because of its slightly thinner body but plays clear and bright. If you have small hands it is a very good match, thinner neck also. Once I tried it in the guitar store I knew it was mine! Plus it has a great color scheme. Good luck!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
