Hi ive just started to learn the guitar.I picked up a second hand jackson ps2 from a freind cheap to learn with.Ive had it checked by local shop who have adjusted the intonation and other bits.

Now the problem im haveing is i find it so hard to play it has a floyd rose which i find is a real pain also the neck feels really thick and i tend to struggle going up and down it,I have to tilt it quite a way up to be fluent.Its getting to the point were i dont really want to play it.

Ive been looking at a fender squire maybee a tele as a replacement.I manly want to learn to play blues,Albert collins,John lee hooker,Srv.Would a squire be ok for this style of music.

Fender's are very versatile, for a beginner they're great. You can use them for almost any type of music if you have a good amp to go with your guitar. =D

Good thing you've picked up the problem early. So many people just give up.
Get your hands on as many similar guitars as you can find. Feel the necks and work out which is the best shape for you. They all feel different even the same brand and model.

Yeah i have nearly given up a few times but i think its just im not happy with my current guitar,It just feels akward to play.I was told by the chap i bought it off it has a fast neck (not sure what this means lol) but it feels so small and narrow.

Thanks all im quite stuck between the Squier strat affinity and the Squier tele affinity.Must admit i like the look of the tele much more than the strat but the strat seemsto have more fetures and tone control not sure which to buy im not fussed about the wammy bar lol

If you get them from a good guitar shop Squiers are good guitars to learn to play on. I have a Squier Tele Custom II P90 and it is great to play for a variety of music. Give a few guitars a go and you will soon work out which ones feel right. If you find a really good display model that you like the look, sound and feel of do the deal and take it away with you. I did this for my last guitar, it felt right so I bought the guitar I was testing.

i have narrowed from 8 to 2 the two are J5 Telecaster (I love john 5) and the Vintage Modified Tele Custom II.

What i would like to know is hardware wise which of the two would be the best investment and which would last longer.I have put the specs below so someone more savy could help a newbie out

yeah.. I picked up a Fender Squier - Strat - for my first guitar.. actually I bought a starter kit... Squier, Amp, cables and such.. although the Squier wouldn't stay in tune for long.. it was great to learn on... and I really didn't know what to look for in a guitar.. after about a year I bought an American Standard Strat and I have others.. but the Strat has always been my favorite...
