Which guitar?
I would like to buy an electric guitar, but I can't decide what kind. I have been playing an acoustic guitar, (ok fiddling with it,) for a while, and I only know a few chords. But I'd realy like to invest in an electric. Any tips on what kind I should buy?

Read some of the stickies above your post. You need to answer a few questions. What is your price range? What kind of music do you like? Look at what your favourite bands are playing. Go to Youtube and look at guitar demos. They will give you an idea of the sound range available.
Don't forget to look at amps too.

Thanks for the advice. By the way, I'm into alternative, and want a guitar ranging from $99 to $130

That's a tough price range. The cases for most of my guitars cost more than $130.

That is a tough price range LT Smash unless you plug your guitar into your computer you'll need an amp, always best to have a gig bag and leads too, I found 4 on Musicians friend but I wouldn't recommend them personally, the reviews were a bit mixed and if it's your first you don't want any problems really as it ruins the experience, there is the option of going used, I buy used but that too has risks as things can be wrong sometimes and you would probably still be wise to get a set up done which puts the price up a bit, might be worth saving a bit more once you get above $160 -$200 there's a lot more guitars to choose from.

About your best bet in that price range is Rondo Music. Their guitars get pretty decent reviews and are probably about the best thing going for the price.
As Starsailor said, you're probably also going to want an amp. I'd recommend either the Roland Micro Cube (my personal favorite in that price range), or the Vox DA5 - either of them are plenty loud enough for home practice and offer a variety of amp models and effects for different sounds.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
