Martin 000-16GT vs Taylor GA3

Guys, I realy need help right now.

okay here's my delima. I went to daddys junky to get a new acoustic guitar. Prefer a GA body. okaym I tried the Taylor GA3 and I like it. now, I checked out the forums etc. they had good reviews. I've googled some of the martins and found this Martin 00016GT. they didnt have it in my music store. I checked guitar center, they did have a 000 style but with solid rosewood instead. cant afford that its 1700$.

martin= spruce/mahagony
taylor= spruce/sapale.

anyone played these guitar can give me an insight.

ps. the martin I found by mail order to be a bit cheaper than the taylor. not by much only 50$.
thanks guys

I own a Martin 000 spruce/mahogany. Bought it solely for the more ballanced tone (for me) over the Taylor. You can save some by looking at the 000M from Martin's Road series, a plain jane, but very nice tone.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

Taylors and Martins are both excellent guitars. Their tones are different - Martins tends to be more bass-y and full, while Taylors are more "sparkly". I tried them both and liked the sound of the Taylor better.

Given the choice between them at a comparable price, I'd say the best thing you can do is play them both and see which sound you like better. Either will be a great guitar quality-wise.

Still so many choices. I have even considered of purchasing a epiphone masterbuilt EF-500RCCE. I've seen a used one for 500$. I guess my biggest concern would be if its wise to bring a martin when I'm dorming and it will be impossible for me to just leave it at home because no one will be there to humidify my guitar.

thanks for the reply keep them comming.
