Schecter Diamond Omen-6 or Ibanez GRG170DX?

Hey there people! First of all, I'm glad being here on the forum, I see lots of professionalism I must say!

Yeah, well... I finally managed to get 300€ to buy a new guitar and wow I'm so happy >.< The only thing left to do is choose one of the below mentioned guitars, but since I'm a total beginner I was hoping you guys could help me further!!!

The Schecter Diamond Series Omen-6 (299€):
www .zzounds.com/item--SCEOMEN6

The Ibanez GRG170DX (229€):
www .zzounds.com/item--IBAGRG170DX

Both very good beginner guitars according to some reviews, still...
Even if the Schecter is more expensive, not so sure if it's also better and I don't know any local music shops nor do I know anyone who can help me out..
I like solos a lot in case this matters...
Music style's more like Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Devildriver, Iron Maiden...
Uhm yeah, need all the opinions I can get ^^

My vote goes to the Schecter. They're very well-built guitars.

Hello xhaihappen, welcome to the forum. Sorry I can't help with this, not familiar with either. If they are close, I would suggest going to a local store and putting your hands on both. And even a couple of others if possible. You might be surprised how much better one feels than the other or another may catch your eye.

I just sold my Schecter C1 Diamond Series. It was a very nice guitar. No complaints at all. It didn't suit me because I just didn't like the jumbo frets. I've got one of these coming in the mail right now as a replacement....

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
