Saint Blues any comments?

I have been playing rhythm in a rock covers band for a couple of years and have been using a vintage SG which I quite like but which actually belongs to someone else. I now have some money to spend on a new guitar of my own (£300-400). I was attracted to the St Blues guitars through an advertisement but I dont know anyone who has played one. Clearly I would want to try one but the dealers are not close to Milton Keynes and I don't want a wasted journey. Does anyone have any comments on these or other guitars in that price range? Not anything too fancy just good reliable rhythm playing (OK and good looking too!)
