Raven West Guitars
I've been cruising through the forums all day and I must say you guys are brilliant. Mad Props to all of you. I've been checking out some different things here and one thing is Raven West Guitars. I haven't heard of this company before but they look like they make a quality product. A lot of the EBAY stuff they have is a blem buy, but that's cool with me... 1 Night of stage rockin will do that to a brand new one too. Is the playable quality of these guitars comparable to gibson? They use a lot of the same designs as Gibson, Ibanez, and Fender. Let me know if you've got one and what you think of them! ROCK ON!

I've never so much as touched a Raven West, but have drooled over a lot of pics of them, and read a lot of very positive comments. They definitely sound like great values, whether or not they're competitive with Gibsons is much more debatable, but I did note this comment from a Gibson/RW owner recently:
"As far as sound and playability, it's right up there with my Gibson LP."

Awesome man, I play a 67' Flying V and I love it, but I constantly have intonation issues. I would never consider replacing this guitar, but I would definatly love to have a sweet backup guitar. I've been torn between getting another gibson, such as a SG or a Explorer, but I've also been looking at the Raven West and some Dean guitars.

I posted the comment about the Raven being right up there with my Gibson LP. And I do admit it. It is seriously. I own 2 Ravens. The RM300DX (LP Style) and the RX620J. I love the RM300DX. It is a sweet sweet guitar. One heavy sucker to. This baby is fully bound all the way around and has a very sweet LP sound. There are alot of big namebrand LP copies out there, I know because I looked and looked. I decided on the Raven RM300DX. Even though I never even tried playing it like I did with all the others. I figured I'd give it a shot. Hell, why not? It was a sweet looking guitar and the price was great! I about crapped my pants when I got it and plugged it in. It is that good. I recommend giving Raven Guitars a try. If you don't like it, well at least you didn't spend an arm and a leg on it like you would on a Gibson Custom. Also, if you don't like it, Heck, resell it on E-bay. Take look at all the bids these Ravens have been getting. I have yet to come across anyone that was unsatisfied with a Raven Puchase. All my frends love my RM300DX.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
