Tele!
I went to the guitar shop this evening with a friend of mine, so I decided to try out this telecaster copy. I just wanted to see what the guitar sound like. And I can say I'm amazed with the twang and the tone. I really like it, but I was wondering how versatile is the guitar, and what is it good for - I prefer clean channel, and perhaps just a bit overdrive.
Thanks!

That classic twang is the appeal for most tele players but, with enough pedals in front of it, you can rock your sox off.

I really like the neck, the twang, I just like the guitar. Think I'm gonna get it (a tele copy) . So, you say it's versatile enough, and can growl if requested?

Muddy waters liked his. You have to put pedals to it to control the twang other wise it has limited tones.

Teles are great guitars. You can get a great variety of sounds out of them just from twiddling with the pickup selector, volume and tone knobs. Sure, they're popular country music guitars - but they've been used by a lot of rockers too. Besides Keith Richards, there's Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Andy Summers (the Police), Jeff Beck, Joe Strummer, etc. Don't forget that Jimmy Page played a Telecaster early in his career - much of the early Led Zeppelin albums were done on a Tele, including the iconic solo in "Stairway To Heaven". So yeah, they'll twang, but they'll do a lot more too!

I just saw Bill Kircher inconcert, he made the Tele sound like a half dozen different guitars with one pedal and technique using volume and tone controls on the Tele.
Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

I just bought a new Fender Telecaster after months of deciding what to do( Entering StringDancer....) "Ultimate telecaster???" The best Telecaster on Earth today is the 1952 reissue Vintage Telecaster!!!! Don't waste your money on anything else! This is the real deal. The '72 has a humbucker, but the '52 is the daddy of 'em all! Pluses vs Minuses , This is a classic that is the best money can buy!!!

I've just bought a Tele knockoff, and I love it. It plays nice (not as good as my American strat) but the strat is my number one guitar. The tone is very distinctive and unmistakable. I've heard it said that the Tele is the workhorse of guitars, I wont deny that. Just look at the Tele user pedigree.
