New Guitar!

Hey guys,

I currently own a Jim Deacon Strat copy that I'm fairly happy with, and a totally awful Honer acoustic. There are a lot of songs that I would like to play acoustically, but still fancy the potential to give a "rockier" sound to other tracks if I need to. I think (maybe you can tell me otherwise) that my solution may be a semi-acoustic.

My friend has an Epiphone Casino which I've played on a fair bit, and love, but it's a bit out of my price range (3 kids to support, etc,etc )

So, anyone suggest a good semi-acoustic for under £150 ($300 approx), or any other suggestions on guitar choice?

I'm beginner/intermediate - been playing for about 8 months (every day), and my musical taste ranges from the Eagles to Oasis/Arctic Monkeys and the Chilli Peppers.

Any advice very much appreciated.

Thanks, my fellow twangers

Saltire the Scot.

I don't know about prices where you are, but Samick Gregg Bennett offers some nice solid top Acoustic/elecrtics in that price group US$.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

I have a guitar from Wesley and another member has a Alba. Both makes are good for the money and very Cheap, it will leave you some change for an upgrade or two. They both have Semi acoustics, Wesley have a very nice semi with p90's pups.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
