Vintage Modified Strat by Squier

This thing looks better to me than some much more expensive guitars, it has "ALnico 5" pups and a "red cedar" body that looks great under the burst paint. What do ya'll think? Anyone played it?

Oh wow - the "cherry Burst" one looks even better with it's match-booked wood venere. Check it out - Squier® Guitars by Fender®: The Official Website

BTW, looks like those Alnico 5 pups are designed by Duncan, which could be kind of cool.

Duncan Designed is nowhere near the quality of Duncan. And Alnico V are generally used as cheap alternatives to aged Alnico II. They aren't as strong as II's, so they have a more vintage sound., But they don't sound as good as aged IIs.

Honestly, you can get much better guitars for the money of a higher end Squier. That guitar is $500...

Durr moment, I had that backwards. ;P

II holds 30% less than V. So yea, the pickups are good.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
