Nostalgia Backing Track for us old timers
I put a little sample together on the key board. Now it needs some good electric guitar work added.
Maybe a little slide guitar perhaps

allthumbs,
I recorded this on a floppy, and open it with Windows media player. I imported it to
IPOD. Then exported it as an mp3. I will try it as a wmv again.

fly135,
Thank you for the compliment. I do need to relax when recording and just play.

Loved the track.
But I'm still a complete noob in many departments and I've got what's known as "Van Gogh's Ear for Music" when it comes to figuring out where to start with breaking something down into its parts.
So any clues on keys and chords please?
I just had a quick stab at it and a few notes sounded rather good... but a depressingly large number didn't...
Cheers,
Chris

Chris,
Its in the key of C and the chords are C-G-F and every now and then a dm.
Bar 1 (c) Bar 2 (G) bar 3 (F) Bar 4(C)-(G) Bar 5 (C) if that helps.
Slide guitar works great with this. But I finger picked it.
Now I got to learn more on how to just get the the base line accross.

here i've recorded myself with this track with a slide. this is just pretty much my first serious (kind of serious) attempt at slide guitar so ya it might sound horrible and out of tune.

Hey Leviman,
That was good try at it. But I need to work on a better track.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
